Janine Cross
The Wandering Eye
Janine Cross was born in Bristol, England and has lived in Vancouver, Canada since the age of three months. She's worked in such diverse fields as law, veterinary medicine, and chocolate production and is one of the founders of Brockton Preparatory School in North Vancouver.
Janine, the Writer
Over the years, Janine has taught workshops and mediated panels at the Vancouver Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention, OryCon, and the Surrey International Writers Convention. After being the secretary for the North Shore Writers’ Association for many seasons, she became its president for several more years. She’s done readings for Vancouver’s Main Street Literary Tour, the Vancouver International Writers & Readers Festival, and the FANS Night Awards. In addition to writing novels, she’s sold short stories and non-fiction articles to a slew of magazines. She’s bonkers about books and passionate about all things written.
Janine, the Traveler
At the age of 18, Janine backpacked through the Middle East and then spent several years bicycling through Asia and the South Pacific. Since then, she’s camped through Iceland, motorcycled in Colombia, and visited a plethora of overseas locales on whirlwind weekend visits. She writes a travel blog at: thewanderingeye.ca
Janine, the Pilot
As a private pilot and volunteer for Airtime Canada, Janine has taught many self-empowerment classes using aviation as a motivational tool, both in the public and private school sector. She is an accredited Radio Operator’s Certificate examiner for Industry Canada and loves the temperamental old 172 Skyhawk tin can that she flies.

Janine is President of the North Shore Writers' Association which is a fellowship of writers who are at all stages in the writing journey, from novice to professional, published and unpublished. It is a registered non-profit organization association dedicated to nourishing the literary community through teaching and sharing skills.

Janine is one of the founding organizers of the Greater Vancouver Horror Writers Association who's vision is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible professional community of authors, poets, editors, publishers, artists, filmmakers, and other creatives.
